Description

Giant Vallisneria – Vallisneria Americana (Gigantea) is another common variety of the Vallisneria genus. Also know as Giant Val, Thick Val. Leaves grow up to 2cm wide and length can be up to 2 metres. Great for larger aquariums but needs to be pruned as the leaves will over shadow other plants. A hardy plant that will do well with larger fish. Giant Val can tolerate lower levels of brackish water. Does not need CO2 but the addition will help with growth rates. This plant is ideal for beginners. Can be prone to melting but new leaves will form rapidly. Propagates with runners that can be allowed to roam free or easily cut off and replanted in a specific area.
