Description
Originating from Asia, Java Fern Microsorium Pteropus is quite a common plant for the aquarium enthusiast. It is one of the easiest plants to keep and doesn’t require much attention. It is most commonly attached to driftwood or rocks. It can be planted in the substrate, but make sure not to cover rhizome as it will rot. Java fern does not require much light to grow. It doesn’t require much of anything to grow. Propagation can be made by cutting the rhizome with a sharp knife. On the leaves of mature plants, new baby plants will form. This plant is a definite must for a beginner. Also like Anubias plants, not needing any other nutrients to grow. Of course adding extra fertilizer will help to bring out the vibrancy and richness of the plant but if you are after easy maintenance then Microsorium Pteropus will accommodate you with this.
